Miami's
Top 10 Restaurants
From
five-star romantic dinners to family-friendly eateries.

The
Forge
432
41st St, Miami Beach, FL 33139 · 305.538.8533
From
the moment you pull up, you can’t help but notice the flock of Rolls
Royce’s and Porsche’s perched on conservative 41st Street.
The Forge is brimming with decadently large parties of
wealthy families, local politicians, and a new breed of sleek South Beach
social climbers. Come
to savor the acclaimed "Supersteak", or dine on less indulgent
items such as The Forge’s fabulous stone crabs or other seafood
specialties. The Forge also boasts one of the city’s
most impressive extensive wine lists, with spectacular selections by the
glass.
Barton
G
1427
West Avenue,
Miami
Beach, FL 33139 ·
(305) 672-8881
Miami
Beach Mayor David Dermer presented a key to the city to Barton
G. Weiss at the restaurant's grand opening, and things have just
kept going for the restaurant over on West Avenue. Barton
G's reputation as master scene-maker continues on thanks to chef Ted Mendez'
neo-classic selections and innovative interpretations of traditional American
culinary fare. After dinner enjoy a Blue Sky Martini at the piano bar
or a Warm Chocolate Truffle Tore with Mini Root Beer Float in the lush
outside garden.
China Grill
404
Washington Avenue,
Miami
Beach, FL 33139 ·
(305) 534-2211
Unlike
most, China Grill is a more personal, stimulating experience, and one
of the city’s most high-profile gathering places.
Great service, attention to details, and a sophisticated, no-frills ambiance
are the ideal backdrop for the finely tuned Pan-Asian concept cuisine.
The real draw? It’s fun, it’s boisterous, there are enough
barstools to go around, and the massive piles of Far Eastern cuisine are
served in a uniquely personal way-- family-style. That's what makes China
Grill a popular locale for out-of-towners and locals alike.
Prime 112
112
Ocean Drive,
Miami
Beach, FL 33139 ·
(305) 532-8112
Prime
112 is a positively excellent steakhouse and
it's just a shame you can't get in—at least not without a reservation
as much as a month in advance. But once you are seated in this trendy
restaurant in the SoFI section of South Beach, you're in for a treat!
Go
with the Sautéed Hudson Valley Foie Gras, Organic Field Greens,
and 48 ounce Porterhouse for Two, with six sauces, five butters, and eleven
accessories to choose from. And while you're waiting for your meal, enjoy
the enticing eye-candy that frequents this hot new area of South Beach.
Blue Door at The Delano
1685
Collins Avenue,
Miami
Beach, FL 33139 ·
(305) 674-6400
The
anchor restaurant of Miami’s darling Delano Hotel is the
Blue Door, featuring New York and Paris-based Claude Troisgros’
impeccably designed Florida inspired French cuisine. The
food is precious; dainty portions of local and imported delicacies, with
whopping price tags to match. Preferred seating is on the garden deck,
amidst diaphanous sheets of blowing white linen and overstuffed, luxurious
banquettes. The adjacent Rose Bar is a who’s
who of fashion industry movers and shakers.
Osteria del Teatro
1443 Washington
Avenue ,
Miami
Beach, FL 33139 ·
(305) 538-7850
Located
in an unassuming storefront beneath the ultrasceney Crobar nightclub,
it's hard to believe that Osteria del Teatro is the best Italian bistro
on the beach. What it might be lacking in decor is certainly not absent
in the elaborate cuisine. Regulars who swear by this place won't even
bother looking at the menu; instead they concentrate on the enormous changing
list of specials on the blackboard: plump chicken breast sautéed
with shallots and sun-dried tomatoes in champagne cream sauce; seafood
baked with linguine, garlic, fresh tomatoes, and olive oil in parchment
paper; or homemade ravioli stuffed with scallops and crab in lobster sauce.
The regulars here are on a first-name basis with the waiters, who always
seem to know what you're in the mood for.
Tuscan Steakhouse
433 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, FL
·
(305) 534-2233
Ostentatious
portions precede outrageous prices for tasty food at Tuscan Steak. Stick
to steaks and all the accoutrements and you can’t fail. Steer clear
of the pastas, or anything that sounds like it may be Tuscan, for that
matter. Family-style dining is Tuscan’s trademark, so best order
a few dishes and pass them around, rather than every man ordering for
himself. Posh décor with state of the art lighting, deep wood finishes
and luxurious high-backed booths are the perfect backdrop for this quintessentially
South Beach steakhouse. Hint: Try the Amarretto Sweet
Potatoes.
Pacific Time
915 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, FL - 305.534.5979
With
impeccable service, consistently polished food, and a list of regulars
that reads like a who’s who of Miami moguls, Pacific Time has become
the darling of the Miami food scene. The boisterous open space is one
of the more socially cultivated dining spots in town, but Pacific time
is a restaurant first, high profile hangout second. Hands down the foremost
Pacific Rim dining experience citywide, there isn’t a single item
on the intricate menu that we wouldn’t recommend. A great way to
sample Eismann’s enchanting style is with the Bento Box, an assortment
of sashimi and bite-size Far Eastern morsels.
Nemo
100 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL - 305.532.4550
Innovative
chef Michael Schwartz has been packing ‘em into his super successful
Nemo since day one, over six years ago. Most popular among townies for
the eclectic seafood-based menu, clever outdoorsy design, and that south
of 5th Street ease of parking. Out of towners flock to Nemo for a glimpse
of that signature South Beach laid back sophistication, countless raw
bar selections and intensely flavored international seafood creations,
unparalleled in Miami. Reserve a table under the large oak that is central
to Nemo’s patio. Breathe in the aromatic tropical breezes that drift
in off the ocean. Or grab a stool inside at the kitchen bar, where patrons
are invited cohort with the cooks. Sample from a meticulously selected
smattering of boutique American vintages. And don’t skip pastry
chef Hedy Goldsmith’s renowned sweet finales. Try anything chocolate.
Quattro
1014 Lincoln
Road,
Miami
Beach, FL 33139 ·
(305) 531-4833
Quattro
Gastronomia Italiana on Lincoln Road serves authentic Northern Italian
cuisine, which closely adheres to traditional methods using only the finest
ingredients imported from Italy. Identical twin chefs Nicola and Fabrizio
Carro have just arrived from the province of Alessandria in the Piemonte
region of Italy and are cooking for the first time in the United States.
They will feature monthly tasting menus highlighting the food and wine
from various regions of Italy. Distinctly Italian accents of cognac leather,
and a glittering custom-designed mirrored bar flank the towering wine
refrigerators accessed by a sliding ladder were fashioned by Studio A
Design. A hand-selected all-Italian wine list comes from owner/vintner
Nicola Schon of Colle Manora vineyard in the countryside of the Monferrato.
